PUBLIC TRANSPORT IN LIEPĀJA

  • city buses;
  • tram;
  • bicycle rental;
  • Bolt (a taxi booking app available throughout Latvia similar to Uber) and taxis.

Liepāja has a bus and tram network that makes it easy to get around between festival venues. Route information is available in the Mobilly and 1188 apps. Bolt app services and bicycle rental are also available in the city.

SUSTAINABLE TRAVEL

Europa Cantat encourages participants to choose environmentally-friendly modes of transport and, where possible, to consider their impact on the environment. According to the European Environment Agency (EEA), CO2 emissions per passenger-kilometre for trains are on average 80–86% lower than for a flight of a similar distance; sea transport also usually produces lower emissions than aviation. We therefore encourage you to make greener choices:

  • whenever possible, choose the train, bus or ferry instead of flying;
  • consider shared transport (a bus or car) with other members of your group or other participants;
  • plan your journey in advance to avoid last-minute, less sustainable choices.
