The sea has been a constant source of inspiration in the arts: for painters, poets, musicians, and more. The sea has forged links between different civilisations; it is a source of life but also, sadly, of death. The sea reflects the sky, its colour, its stars...
Join us as we sing about the sea from a multifaceted, vital and spiritual perspective.
Elisenda Carrasco i Ribot (she/her), from Barcelona, completed advanced degrees in Orchestral Conducting, Composition, and Music Education, specialising in Choral Conducting. She has been teaching and conducting for over forty years. She has particularly extensive knowledge and technique in choirs for children and equal voices.
The training of conductors in children's choral singing is one of her leading skills. For this reason, she is regularly invited to give courses and workshops around the world.
She regularly collaborates with L'Auditori of Barcelona in educational concerts, symphonic-choral programs, and directing and creating concerts. She co-directs Cantània, which involves over 55,000 schoolchildren every year.
She has been the musical conductor of the Cor infantil Sant Cugat since it was founded in 1991, the mixed choir El Cor Canta, and the female chamber choir Voxalba. She is also a professor at the Superior School of Music in Barcelona.
Full of dynamism, Carrasco builds on her musical and pedagogical foundations to work with energy and limitless vision, broadening her ensembles' musical horizons both technically and musically.
